A prayer service of remembering and honoring friends lost to AIDS in observance of World AIDS Day will begin at 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Rockford.
The church is at the corner of Sixth Street and Third Avenue. The Rev. Karen A. King, NAACP State of Illinois Religious Affairs chairman, will speak on the theme “Shared Responsibility: Strengthening Results for an AIDS-free Generation.”
The gathering is an opportunity to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with AIDS, and to remember those who have died.
Prayers, readings and music will focus on the feelings and understanding of the continuing world-wide crisis.
