• Collaboration topic of open house at Colorlab Cosmetics Dec. 6
Rockford’s locally owned cosmetic company, Colorlab Cosmetics, and the Rockford Area Arts Council (RAAC) have created a collaboration to leverage support for emerging women arts entrepreneurs. The partnership between the internationally known company and the nonprofit will work with artists by empowering them through business education, financial assistance, and mentoring. The project will recruit and interview artists and align program resources appropriately to the participant’s skill level.
Anne O’Keefe, CEO at RAAC, said: “Colorlab has set the gold standard for a woman-owned company. This is going to be an incredible opportunity for the women artists we are going to work with in the future. From the first meeting with Mary and her team, I could tell that this partnership will be built on passion for empowering success!”
The collaboration will kick off the program Saturday, Dec. 6, with an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Colorlab Cosmetics, 1112 Fifth Ave., Rockford. With every purchase made at their boutique, 10 percent of each sale will go to the RAAC to support women in the arts.
