ROCKTON, Illinois — The Rockton Christmas Walk is 30 years old. Over the years, this event has grown and become a family tradition for many. The Rockton Chamber continues this tradition Saturday, Dec. 6.
For the 30th year, the Chamber is making a few changes to the festivities. The biggest change is moving all featured events to Saturday. Basically, the Lighting of the Park has moved from its previous spot on Friday night to a new spot on Saturday night at 4 p.m. The Candy Cane Craft Fair remains on Saturday, and the Lighted Christmas Parade remains on Saturday night at 7 p.m. Participating organizations will continue to offer events Friday-Sunday, including the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast and Talcott Library’s “Chocolate for the Talcott Soul.”
In lieu of an events brochure, the event is moving to a simpler approach to event listings. Around town on Christmas Walk weekend, visitors will find a few large sidewalk posters. These event posters will feature all the events throughout town with a detailed map showing where to go for each event. You can also expect the same map, but smaller, to be posted inside area shops and restaurants. For those who need advance notice of the events, a digital listing of the events can be found at rocktonchristmaswalk.com.
