Heritage Credit Union endowment fund gives to area organizations

The Richard J. McGrath Endowment Fund helps support local social organizations in the communities served by Heritage Credit Union. Rockford-area award recipients for 2014 included Emmanuel Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Remedies Renewing Lives, Stateline Youth for Christ, Junior League of Rockford and Milestone Dental Clinic.
In January 2007, Heritage founded the Richard J. McGrath Endowment Fund. The fund is named after a former member of Heritage’s Board of Directors, who dedicated more than 30 years of volunteer service to the credit union. Applications for the endowment are accepted each year from July 1 to Aug. 31. Social organizations that wish to be considered for an award in 2015 may apply during the application period by downloading a form at heritagecu.org or visiting any Heritage branch.
Heritage Credit Union was established in 1934 in Madison, Wisconsin, to serve the employees of Oscar Mayer & Company. The not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution has an asset size of $275 million, and serves more than 27,000 members. Heritage branches are in Madison, Milwaukee, Sauk City, Prairie du Sac, Chetek, Ladysmith, Hawkins, Prentice and Phillips, Wisconsin, and in Rockford and Galesburg, Illinois.
