2nd City Chorus presents ‘The Stories of Christmas’

The award-winning 2nd City Chorus is presenting its annual Christmas program, “The Stories of Christmas,” at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, at Second Congregational/First Presbyterian Church, 318 N. Church St., Rockford. This group is well-known for singing a variety of music and was recently recognized by the Barbershop Harmony Society-Illinois District as Small Chorus Champions and Most Entertaining Chorus.

Their very special guest is the Prairie Echoes Chorus from DeKalb, Illinois. This 2012 Sweet Adeline Midwest Region 3 Small Chorus Champion is known for its unique blend of four-part a cappella harmony. This chorus also has the honor of being two-time International Chorus Champions in 2000 and 2002.

Joining this holiday concert are the Martin Ringers Bell Choir and organist, Valerie Blair, from the Second Congregational/First Presbyterian Church.

Highlighting both sacred and secular favorites, this program will get those who attend in the Christmas spirit. A free-will offering will be taken.
