High school students from Winnebago, Boone, Ogle and Stephenson counties can audition for the 2015 RAMI (Rockford Area Music Industry) Youth Charity Jam. Auditions will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at the Tebala Shrine Center, 7910 Newburg Road, Rockford. A single performer, or at least two-thirds of the band members, must be attending high school to qualify.
The top seven performances will advance to the 2015 RAMI Youth Charity Jam Saturday, April 11, 2015. The first-place winner will receive $300, 10 hours of recording time from The Midwest Sound Recording Studio, and will be invited to perform at the 24th RAMI Awards Ceremony. The second-place winner receives $250, and third place $200. The band/performer selling the most tickets to the event receives $100.
Local musicians, booking agents and two members of In Youth We Trust, a youth philanthropy program of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, will judge the event. Each band/performer will be judged in vocals, music, stage presence and originality.
