University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford Dean Alex Stagnaro-Green, Associate Dean for Rural Health Professions & Center Development Dr. Michael Glasser, Project Coordinator Vicki Weidenbacher-Hoper and former Director of the Rural Medicine Program and current Campus Dean for the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Dr. Matt Hunsaker visited the Princess of Naradhiwas University (PNU) in Thailand earlier this month, on the King’s birthday, to sign a memo of understanding between PNU and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.
PNU is establishing a rural medicine program, modeled after Rockford’s highly successful Rural Medicine Education (RMED) program. The delegation has been working with faculty and staff from the National Center for Health Professions to study the RMED curriculum and their clinical program models.
Dean Alex Stagnaro-Green gave a lecture, “Thyroid and Pregnancy: Miscarriage, Preterm Delivery, and Decreased IQ,” in Bangkok to roughly 100 people who attended.
