Linda Grist Cunningham to lead YWCA Leader Luncheon dialogue

Linda Grist Cunningham will leader a panel discussion on the role of women in leadership at the 35th annual YWCA Leader Luncheon March 2, 2015.
YWCA Rockford will host the 35th annual luncheon and Women of Achievement Awards presentation March 2, 2015, at Giovanni’s Conference Center.
The 2015 event will feature a panel of outstanding women leaders who have received Women of Achievement Awards over the last four decades.
Grist-Cunningham, 2010 Racial Justice Award winner, will facilitate a discussion on the role of women in leadership in our community, past, present and future.
Grist Cunningham is a veteran journalist and news industry executive. She relocated to Key West, Florida, in 2012, after 20 years as executive editor of the Rockford Register Star. She left the Register Star in 2011 to open KeyWestWatch Media LLC.
She was named Northern Illinois University’s Journalist of the Year and was inducted into the Marshall University Journalism Hall of Fame.
Cunningham is a nationally known discussion and seminar leader in management and leadership training and worked with the American Society of News Editors, the American Press Institute and the Inland Press Association, as well as several state and regional press associations. She served as a Pulitzer judge and twice received a Gannett President’s Ring.
Since 1891, YWCA Rockford has remained dedicated to its mission, “eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.”
YWCA Rockford provides programming and advocacies for more than 6,500 women, children and families each month, who seek economic self-sufficiency through child care subsidy, job skills and computer training. Proceeds also assist with community racial justice work that promotes a clear commitment to equality. YWCA Rockford programming serves Boone, Winnebago, Stephenson, and Jo Daviess counties.
