Freeport Art Museum’s ‘Wine, Cheese and Chocolate’ fund-raiser Feb. 6

Staff Report

FREEPORT, Illinois — Freeport Art Museum (FAM) will host the annual “Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Tasting” fund-raiser Friday, Feb. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Enjoy a variety of fine wines and locally crafted cheeses while shopping the silent auction featuring top-rated wines paired with dinner packages or artistic wine-themed gifts.

Back by popular demand is CHOCOLATE! Taste some handmade, decadent chocolate treats that pair wonderfully with wine. The first 100 guests receive a commemorative wine glass.

Take advantage of a unique opportunity to win an original oil painting by Sue Cibulka. Titled “Summer Meadow,” the painting measures 16 inches by 20 inches and is ready to hang. Raffle tickets are $5 each. The winner will be announced during the wine-tasting.

More than 250 people attended last year’s event, raising $7,000 for the museum.

Event and raffle tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person. Visit www.freeportartmuseum.org and click on Special Events under the Events tab. Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members in advance, $35 at the door. Tickets will be available for purchase online until noon, Feb. 6.

FAM is at 121 N. Harlem Ave., Freeport, and is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Friday, and noon-5 p.m., Saturday. Tours may be scheduled by calling (815) 235-9755. Admission to the museum is free, although donations are appreciated.
