High-energy ‘We Choose Health’ event at Discovery Center Jan. 10

Rockford’s Discovery Center is teaming up with local experts for the high-energy event “We Choose Health” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10.

Be the doctor as you interact with local medical students from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. Find your pulse, fold a brain, fool your muscles, test your reflexes, and explore ways to stay healthy.

No registration required. Included with museum admission: $8 adults, $8 children ages 2-17.

This event is tied to state and national campaigns for healthy living. Let’s Move! is a national campaign spearheaded by First Lady Michelle Obama to end childhood obesity in the United States. We Choose Health is a multi-year Illinois Department of Public Health initiative funded by the Affordable Care Act to encourage and support the implementation of proactive health programs.
