Christmas Tree Recycling – Ogle County Solid Waste Management Dept. will accept live Christmas trees for dropoff at the following locations from Dec. 26-Jan. 18: Byron: Sunshine Park, IL Route 2 & S. Peru St. Forreston: 407 N. Locust St. Leaf River: 208 W. Railroad St. by Sewage Treatment Plant. Monroe Center: 309 Pacific St. (Lichty’s Landscaping). Oregon: 507 Hill St. at Oregon Park District maintenance yard. Polo: 410 N. Prairie Ave., west of storage building. Rochelle: Atwood Park, 10th Ave. and 20th St. behind band shell.
Future Farmers of America high school groups will volunteer their time on Sat., Jan. 10, to collect Christmas trees for recycling. The trees will be picked up at the curb and taken to a local chipping site. Trees, with all decorations removed, must be at the curb by 8 a.m. on Jan. 10. In conjunction with Ogle County Solid Waste Management.
City of Rockford with Rock River Disposal again offers curbside collection of Christmas trees. Trees are to be placed at the same location as regular garbage on regularly-scheduled pick-up day. Trees will be collected Jan. 5-15.
