Local indie horror film seeks funding on Indiegogo

Staff Report

Local feature-length body/psychological horror film Bloom has been released and is seeking funding on Indiegogo.com.

Bloom follows the story of Lily, who wakes up in a bloody motel bathroom with fuzzy memories of the previous night. As she copes with her trauma and struggles to figure out what happened, she begins changing into something inhuman.

Bloom stars Deann Baker (Dry Spell, Fangs vs. Spurs) as Lily, Danielle Doetsch (Bikini Girls on Ice, Motivational Growth) as Sylvia, Terry Bell (Chi Raq: The Series, Dead Girls) as Calvin, Malcom Banks (The Deal, the Dance and the Devil) and Andrew Jacob DeHart (PUTA: People for the Upstanding Treatment of Animals, Dead Girls) as Keith.

Produced by Rockford-based Plastic Age Productions, Bloom features a cast and crew composed of some of the finest talent from the Chicago/Rockford area. For example, Deann Baker is a Chicago-based actress who has appeared in a number of indie productions and serves the Chicago indie film community as a co-host of the indie film-oriented news web series, Filming ‘Round Midtown.

From the crew of Bloom are director of photography Drew Pientka, gaffer Sean Tyler, and assistant director Cherish Warden, all from the Chicago area, with dozens of area productions on their collective résumés.

Bloom was written and directed by Travis Legge.
