Three arrested after attempted break-ins at two Rockford businesses

Three Rockford men face two counts of attempted burglary after allegedly attempting to break in to two Rockford businesses in the early morning hours of Jan. 21.
Manuel A. Loredo, 20, Jessee C. Darby, 19, and Ryan C. Carmona, 20, are each suspected of attempting to gain access to Discount Tobacco and Pantry, 615 S. Rockford Ave., and Culture Shock, 2239 Charles St.
Police responded to a business alarm at Discount Tobacco and Pantry at approximately 2:22 a.m. While investigating the attempted break-in, officers obtained descriptions of the individuals who allegedly attempted to gain entry to the business. The descriptions were relayed to other officers.
While obtaining information about the first attempted break-in, officers received another business alarm at Culture Shock. Investigation into that attempted break-in found descriptions of the suspects to be similar to those of the incident at Discount Tobacco and Pantry.
Officers checking the area found three individuals — Loredo, Darby and Carmona — similar in appearance to the suspects described by the officer conducting the investigation at each scene, and the suspects were taken into custody.
