Man faces charges following attempted armed robbery

Quentin L.D. Hanson, 22, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, has been arrested following an attempted armed robbery on Rockford’s west side.
Thursday, Jan. 22, Rockford patrol officers and M3 Street Team officers responded to the area of School Street and Kilburn Avenue in reference to an attempted armed robbery to a citizen.
When they arrived, officers met with the victim, who reported a black male suspect had confronted him at gunpoint and demanded money. When the victim, who is homeless, refused, a struggle ensued, and the suspect fled on foot.
While checking the area, officers located a subject, later identified as Hanson, near the area of Rockton Avenue and Ashland Avenue. Hanson was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. A handgun, believed to have been used during the incident, was recovered from the scene.
Hanson has been charged with attempted armed robbery, aggravated unlawful use of weapons by a gang member, resisting police and no Firearm Owner’s Identification card.
