More than 50 employers at Jan. 29 job fair

BELVIDERE, Illinois — The Workforce Connection will hold its annual January Career Expo and Job Fair from noon to 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Community Building Complex, 111 W. First St., Belvidere.
More than 50 employers, employment and staffing agencies, and education and training providers have reserved booth space for the job fair. More than 500 people attended last year’s event. Employment and training opportunities are available in manufacturing, health care, customer service, logistics, clerical, sales and other job sectors.
“We have had a huge response from employers wanting to participate in this event,” said Darcy Bucholz, executive director of the Northern Illinois Workforce Alliance. “This is the largest job fair we have hosted in several years.”
Rock River Training Corporation, one of the partners in The Workforce Connection, is running a shuttle bus from downtown Rockford to the event. To reserve a spot on the bus, call (815) 847-7574. There is also a bus stop on the RMTD Belvidere route one block from the job fair site.
The job fair is held each year in conjunction with the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Bo-Co Expo, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31.
The Workforce Connection is a partnership of state and federally funded employment and training programs, economic development agencies and educational entities committed to providing a workforce that meets the needs of the area’s business community.
The Workforce Connection One-Stop Centers in Rockford, Freeport and Belvidere provide one contact for employers to find workers and for job-seekers to receive training, education and employment services.
