FRANKLIN GROVE, Illinois — January 2015 is one of the favored months when the calendar gives us a Fifth Friday — another chance for music at the historic H.I. Lincoln Building in downtown Franklin Grove Jan. 30.
In keeping with the tradition, Rockford’s Q 98.5 Disc Jockey Chip Messiner will swap his soundboard and broadcast tower for an acoustic guitar and an audience so close he can reach out and touch them.
Chip has a great singing voice and a repertoire of songs to go with his guitar skills that have entertained music fans at virtually every festival and live entertainment venue in the Midwest.
The H.I. Lincoln Show will feature Chip’s range of entertainment with, by special fan request (demand?), special excerpts of his extremely popular John Denver Tribute Show.
At the risk of name-dropping, just some of the acts that Chip has had the pleasure of working with are Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, Brad Paisley, Patty Loveless, Randy Travis, Rascal Flats, Little Texas, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Marty Stuart, Ricky Skaggs, Eddy Raven, Blood Sweat & Tears, The Turtles, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and Paul Revere & the Raiders.
Two action-packed shows will be at 7 and 9 p.m. Seating is limited, so don’t delay. Tickets are available for a $10 donation by calling the H.I. Lincoln building at (815) 456-3030 daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays, or stop by the H.I. Lincoln building during the same hours.
