Man arrested after wife dies following domestic battery

John Boose, 44, of Rockford, was arrested Jan. 31 after his wife, Regina Boose, 46, died as a result of blunt force trauma Jan. 30. John Boose has been charged with aggravated domestic battery of his wife.

Rockford Fire Department personnel responded to 2204 Van Wie Ave. at 8:59 a.m., Jan. 30, in reference to a medical call. Regina Boose was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

At 10:40 a.m., Jan. 30, Rockford police initiated a death investigation. During the course of the investigation, the cause of death was ruled a homicide as a result of blunt force trauma.

Detectives learned domestic violence had occurred to more than one victim within the household. Details were reviewed with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, and a warrant was authorized and obtained for aggravated domestic battery for John Boose.

John Boose was taken into custody at 1:15 a.m., Jan. 31, at a private residence in Rockford. He is being held at Winnebago County Jail.
