Plainfield man arrested for impersonation of peace officer

WILL COUNTY, Illinois — Ross D. Ferraro Jr., 45, of Plainfield, Illinois, was arrested and charged with impersonating a peace officer Thursday, Jan. 29.
Illinois State Police Zone 3 investigators conducted a traffic stop Jan. 29 on a private individual who was driving a vehicle equipped to look like a police vehicle. The driver, Ferraro Jr., was charged with false personation of a police officer.
Further investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Plainfield, Illinois. Numerous items related to the false personation of a police officer were found at the residence and seized, including four firearms, ballistic vests, numerous police badges, uniforms, and two vehicles containing emergency lighting.
“ISP takes matters related to false personation of a police officer extremely serious,” said M/Sgt. Dan Likens. “We ask that anyone who may have had contact with the subject to contact ISP Zone 3 Investigations with information at (815) 726-6377.”
