‘Food Patriots’ screening at Womanspace Feb. 12

The award-winning documentary film Food Patriots will be screened at Womanspace, 3333 Maria Linden Drive, Rockford, Thursday, Feb. 12.

After their son gets sick from chicken contaminated with a superbug, filmmakers Jeff and Jennifer Spitz begin taking a closer look at where their food comes from. An entertaining look at this family’s struggle to grow their own food, raise backyard chickens and transform into “Food Patriots,” this documentary hits close to home with footage and interviews across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

Cost is $10 for Womanspace members and $15 for non-members. Admission can be paid at www.womanspace-rockford.org, over the phone at (815) 877-0118 or in person at Womanspace.
