The deadline to enroll for 2015 Market Place insurance coverage is fast approaching.

Persons seeking medical coverage via Get Covered Illinois, the state’s official health care coverage marketplace, have until Feb. 15 to apply in order to avoid a fine for 2015.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a report Monday estimating that 78 percent of Illinois residents signing up to Marketplace coverage qualify for an average of $210 per person per month in advance premium tax credits.

Among all consumers who registered for 2015 coverage to date in the 37 states covered under HealthCare.gov, eight in 10 were able to choose a plan with a premium of $100 or less after tax credits were applied.

Winnebago County Health Department offers free assistance for those looking to register at their Walk-in Enrollment Center, 555 N. Court St., Suite 204, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon. Additional hours are also available by calling 815-720-4247.
