Arc to host artist training

Staff Report

The Arc of Winnebago, Ogle and Boone Counties will be holding an artist training event taught by local artists Lisa Frost, Jordan McDonald, Rhiannon Stanuch and Christopher Tyson.

The-ArcClasses will be offered March 30 to April 20 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at The Arc offices.

This “Finding Your Voice as an Artist” training is partially funded by City Arts Action Grant provided by the Rockford Area Arts Council (RAAC).

The purpose of the training is to build upon the artists’ natural talents and also to support those looking to provide an income stream.

RAAC is a nonprofit agency with the goal of promoting, supporting and developing the arts for everyone.

The Arc’s Project Arts provide artists with intellectual and development disabilities (I/DD) professional and social opportunities.

The mission of The Arc is to help families raise children diagnosed with I/DD at home and help adults live in their communities and participate in normal daily routines.

In addition to art, The Arc also provides informational seminars, social activities and skills development classes.
