Shelter Care Ministries receives grant

Staff Report

Shelter Care Ministries has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the FCA Foundation.

These funds will allow Shelter Care to provide cost free housing to families and children living in homelessness.

Shelter Care Ministries also offers services at the Jubilee Center providing a day center for those suffering from mental illnesses as well as the Careers & MORE course assisting those who are having difficulty securing employment.

Shelter Care Ministries was established in 1984 by Emmanuel Episcopal Church in response to the needs of the growing homeless population.

Those services have since expanded to include the Jubilee Center, emergency and transitional housing for homeless, a drop-in day care for children whose parents are moving from homelessness to housing and Careers & MORE providing classes, coaching and support to clients preparing for the job market.
