Archaeology presentation upcoming at Burpee

The Rockford Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will be holding a free multimedia presentation this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.silkroads

The main topic for this event will be Central Asia and discussing new archaeological discoveries and analysis in the region of the Silk Road.

Guest speaker Professor Michael Franchetti from Washington University in St. Louis will be talking about environmental studies and cultural landscape reconstruction.

Professor Franchetti has published and lectured extensively on archaeological work in Central Asia as well as directed archaeological fieldwork in the region.

The presentation will be held at the Burpee Museum of Natural History, 737 N. Main St.

The public is invited to a free reception immediately following the presentation.
