Rockford public works updates
The newly resumed Railroad Avenue Bridge Replacement Project which consists of the complete removal and replacement of the bridge over Keith Creek between 8th St. and 9th St. will cause the road to remain closed until completion which is scheduled for the end of May. Traffic control and detour signage will be maintained to warn motorists and pedestrians of the bridge closure.

Falcon Road from Airport Drive to Samuelson Road is closed and is expected to be back open July 2, until which time no through traffic is allowed except for local businesses as part of the Falcon Road Airport Drive Roadway Reconstruction Project.
Shoulder work will also be resuming on Falcon Road so caution should be taken while traveling this route.
The Falcon Road Reconstruction Project will include all roadways from New Milford School Road to Airport Drive, including intersection improvements at New Milford School Road, Samuelson Road and Airport Drive.
This project will consist of pavement removal, reclaiming existing pavement, curb and gutter, ditch and waterway improvements, reconstruction of business entrances, erosion control and new asphalt pavement.
The entirety of the Falcon Road Airport Drive Roadway Reconstruction Project is expected to be completed by November 15.
Also closed until July 2 is Airport Drive from Lockheed Drive to Assembly Drive, a detour route will be posted for drivers traveling in the area.
Among the notable improvements to the project will be constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Kishwaukee Street and Airport Drive, railroad cross reconstruction and straightening out the roadway east of the railroad crossing.
Drivers are strongly encouraged to drive safe in construction zones especially when work is being done.
