RAMI hosts youth musicians benefit

This Saturday the Rockford Area Music Industry will be holding their 2015 Youth Charity Jam at the Tebala Shrine Center, 7910 Newburg Road.

The night will include performances from The Shenanigans, Ashley Bjork, Prone to Infection, Goodbye Virginia, Sheephead and Tristan Bushman.

Doors will open for at 5 p.m. with bands taking the stage at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $5 in advance and are available from participating performers, band members or online at eventbrite.com/e/2015-rami-youth-charity-jam-tickets.

Admission at the door is $7 per person and free for children 12 and under.

First place winner for the night will receive $300, free recording time donated by The Midwest Sound Recording Studio and will be invited to perform at the 24th RAMI Awards Ceremony Friday, April 24 at the Tebala Shrine Center.

Second place winner will receive $250 with third receiving $200.

The band selling the most tickets to the event will receive $100.

Sponsors for the event include the Rockford Area Music Industry, Kim and Ruth MacCloskey, StudioFyra, The Rock River Times, Tebala Shrine Center and In Youth We Trust.

Professional sound, lighting and stage technicians assisted the young musicians during the event as they raised money for music scholarships.
