The SkillsUSA welding competition will be held April 25 at Blackhawk Technical College’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Milton.
The winner from this event will advance to the national competition in Louisville, KY in June with a chance to qualify for the national team that will compete in an international event.
Welders from eight Wisconsin Technical College System schools will be given a pile of precut metal, a blueprint and a time limit to complete projects that will be judged in four welding processes.
Judging is provided by independent inspectors as well as welding inspectors from area companies.
The competition runs from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Welding Lab (Room 212) and Fab Lab (Room 216) in the training center at 15 Plumb St., Milton, WI.
