Rockford Hawg Hunters bass tournament this weekend

Bass fisherman it’s time for the 26th Annual Rockford Hawg Hunters Rock River Open. The single day team bass tournament is this Sunday. Tournament headquarters and take off point are at Wooten Park in Beloit, Wisconsin.

There is a pre-tournament meeting at 6:30 a.m. and tournament hours run from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. There is a $100 entry fee per team. Payout will be to the top 20 percent of the field with an 80 percent payback after expenses. There is a 100 percent payout for the big bass caught during the tournament.

The rules state that there are only two people per boat and each team is responsible for supplying their own boat. There is no age limit for this tournament, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Only those over 18 are eligible for the cash prizes.

The Rock River is home to both the largemouth and smallmouth bass. Both varieties will be accepted for this tournament. Winners will be determined by total weight of each team’s catch. Team limit will be six bass. Fish presented for weigh in must be at least 14 inches with the mouth closed.
