US Cellular donates $10,000 to Boys & Girls Club of Rockford

The Boys & Girls Club of Rockford received a boost to its science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programming thanks to a $10,000 donation from U.S. Cellular.

This donation is part of a $1.25 million national commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America and National 4-H Council.

This support will enhance the learning experience for youth and communities by supporting the STEM educational programs.

The Boys & Girls Club of Rockford serves more than 6,000 youth in after school and outreach programs.

This donations and the continued focus ensures the company is positively impacting communities where associates live, work and play.

“As a national wireless company driven by innovative technology, it’s a natural fit we focus on STEM programming as it helps develops our future associate base,” says Scott Preston, area sales manager for U.S. Cellular in Northern Illinois.

“We’re excited U.S. Cellular shares our commitment to helping youth and advancing our education efforts,” says Clifford (Chip) Stoner, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford. “This commitment will have a positive lasting impact on Club youth.”

U.S. Cellular has provided more than $7 million since 2009 to local elementary and secondary schools.
