Workforce Connection holds employment and training opportunities event

The Workforce Connection will be holding an event tomorrow to highlight local job opportunities in truck driving, welding, CNC machining and computer technology.

Job seekers are encouraged to talk to training providers and career counselors about employment prospects in these in-demand fields.

The First Institute mobile welding lab along with trucks from Spirit CDL Training and RVC Truck Driving School on display while instructors answer questions about available training.

Those interested in careers in transportation, manufacturing and technology information may be eligible for free short-term training.

The workshop will be held at 3 p.m. at the Regional Design Center, 315 N. Main St., in downtown Rockford.

The Workforce Connection is a partnership of state and federally funded employment and training programs, economic development agencies and educational entities committed to providing a workforce that meets the needs of the business community.

The Workforce Connection has One-Stop Centers in Rockford, Freeport and Belvidere for employers to find workers and for job seekers to receive training, education and employment services.
