June is Adopt a Cat Month at Winnebago County Animal Services, 4517 N. Main St., which means all adult cats are being offered for a $5 adoption fee.
The fee includes rabies shot and tag, microchip, spay/neuter and other preventative vaccinations.
Anyone who adopts will also receive a free microchip nationwide registration, which will allow the adopter to register the microchip, and usually costs $20, in their own name, free of charge.
All cats one year and older are eligible and require an approved adoption application by WCAS.
This program will be sponsored by the Winnebago County Animal Services Auxiliary (WCASA).
The WCASA is a non for profit group of animal concerned citizens that work towards making a difference for the animals while under the care of WCAS.
