Discovery Center offers summer camps

The Discovery Center is offering a wide variety of half-day summer camps to give children 6 and older a chance to keep busy and exercise their minds.

For children ages 6-8 eight different camps will be held June-August covering topics such as rockets and space, magnetic forces, water, chemistry, math, bugs and using science to explore the world of Dr. Seuss.

These classes will cost $75 per week for the public and $60 per week for Discovery Center members.

For children ages 9 and older there are also eight camps to be held June-August on subjects including chemistry, ER medicine, engineering a Mars rover, Minecraft, the science behind popular movies, rockets and a camp involving using skills as a scientist and survivalist in a zombie apocalypse.

The cost for these classes is $90 per week for the public and $80 for Discovery Center members.

Camps will run Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-noon.
