Navy Week continues with various events
The remaining days of Navy Week offer chances to catch some music or take part in activities with Navy divers.
On Wednesday the Navy Band Great Lakes Jazz Quintet and New Orleans Style Brass Band will be performing at the Nicholas Conservatory Gardens, 1354 N. 2nd St., from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Later on that day the Navy Band Great Lakes Brass Quintet and Woodwind Quintet will be performing at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, 406 N. Main St., from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Both of these performances are free and open to the public.
On Friday the sailors of the USS Constitution will be at the Discovery Center Museum, 711 N. Main St., from 1-5 p.m.
Navy divers and a Navy Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team will let visitors try on bombs suits and dive helmets and learn how the Navy utilizes this equipment.
Visitors can also try their hand at maneuvering robots that the military uses to detect bombs.
There will also be several sailors from the USS Constitution in period attire interacting with visitors in the museum.
These activities are included with Discovery Center admission.
