Volunteers clear water trail on Koshkonong Creek

Staff ReportPVC Work Day, Kosh Crk, 5-2015 (1) sml

Last weekend the Friends of Glacial Heritage Area’s Paddle Volunteer Corps worked to clear a paddling water trail on the Koshkonong Creek between Cambridge and Rockdale, Wisconsin.

Corps volunteers cut and cleared portions of dead fallen trees to create a path large enough for kayak and canoe passage.

A few days later Corps volunteers took advantage of the newly cleared passage and hosted a group paddle down that section of the creek.

Volunteers included Bob Magnussen, Dennis Panczenko, Charlie Wedl, Greg Idzikowski, Kevin Wiesmann (Jefferson County Parks Operations Supervisor), JR Klement (Jefferson County Construction and Maintenance Employee) and Clare Carlson.

Anyone can join the free Friend’s Paddle Volunteer Corps to help clear water trails in the Glacial Heritage Area and to enjoy organized paddles throughout the region.

The Corps next project is the Bark River.
