The Rockford Park District’s Nicholas Conservatory & Garden, 1354 N. 2nd St., will be presenting a sculpture exhibit along with the Chicago Sculpture International Show and Rockford Art Museum.
The exhibit will run from June 27-August 23 and feature works by artists of Chicago Sculpture International and other regional artists.
The featured sculptures which will be placed among the plants in Nicholas Conservatory are created using recycled and reclaimed material.
The theme centering on recycled and reclaimed material was chosen based on Nicholas Conservatory’s LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Gold status certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The exhibit is curated by Carrie Johnson, Rockford Art Museum, and Lyndi Toohill, Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens.
Admission to Nicholas Conservatory is $6 ($8 non-resident) for adults, $4 ($6 non-resident) for youth ages 5-17, seniors 65+ and veterans, $1 ($2 non-resident) for children ages 3-4 with children ages 2 and under being admitted free.
Nicholas Conservatory is open Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and is closed Mondays for plant maintenance and care.
