State Rep Litesa Wallace invites residents to ice cream social

Rep. Wallace

Staff Report

State Representative Litesa Wallace invites Rockford residents and families to share treats and conversation at an ice cream social at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Brown Park, 2010 N. Main St.

“I see this ice cream social as an opportunity to connect with my constituents about the issues that are important to them,” Wallace said. “Additionally, with warm weather finally here, I invite parents to bring their kids out to the park to have some fun.”

Wallace will be available to discuss state level and community issues with attendees.

Free ice cream, as available, will be provided to guests.

Small games will also be available for use by children, while attendees are welcome to bring recreational items for use in the park.

A reservation is not required and residents are encouraged to invite others.

“One of the great things about Rockford is that we have numerous parks available for recreation and community purposes,” Wallace said. “I hope that events like this are not only enjoyable for local residents, but are also informative on the issues that matter to families.”
