Aviators welcome Grizzlies, Wild Things for six game homestand

From the Rockford Aviators

Join the Rockford Aviators for their upcoming homestand against the Gateway Grizzlies and Washington Wild Things. The team will take on the Grizzlies today through Thursday before welcoming the Eastern Division Wild Things to Aviators Stadium on July Friday through Sunday.

Today will feature the completion of the June 28 game against the Grizzlies that was suspended in Sauget due to rain. That completion game will begin at 5 p.m. and the regularly scheduled series opener will begin at 6:35 p.m. The promotional theme of the series will be Willie Wonka’s Candy Land. Come to Aviators Stadium to immerse yourself in the world of candy and baseball.

Wednesday will be a very special day in Loves Park, as the Aviators celebrate their mascot Rocko’s birthday. It seems like just yesterday he was a hatchling. Fans are invited to help Rocko blow out his candles and open his presents in style as the Aviators take on the Grizzlies in a 12:05 p.m. matchup.

All draft beers will be just $1 as the Aviators wrap things up against the Grizzlies Thursday night. Friday will be a Seat Cushion Gate Giveaway as the Aviators welcome the Wild Things to town. These custom Aviator souvenirs will keep fans comfortable during the game and will make for a fun memento of a great night at Aviators Stadium.

The theme of the series against the Wild Things will be “The Great Outdoors.” Saturday will be Scout Night at the stadium, and there will be a campout on the field and a showing of The Sandlot on the outfield big screen after the game.

Sunday will be a “Catch On The Field” and “Kids Run The Bases” Day. The Aviators will take on the Wild Things at 3:05 p.m. Fans are invited to bring a glove and ball to toss around in the outfield from 2-2:35 p.m., and kids can show off their wheels after play concludes by circling the basepaths.
