Children’s Home + Aid holds school supply drive

Staff Report

Children’s Home + Aid, Foster Care Youth is holding a school supply drive from now through August 22.

Through this drive they hope to provide students with the supplies they will need throughout the school year that they may not be able to get for themselves.

They will be accepting backpacks, pencils, markers, crayons, tissues, filler paper, watercolors, notecards, colored pencils, composition notebooks and scissors.

Donations can be made through their Target registry at target.com/gift-registry/registry/u9VXya-fKYEdcdmyEJkXFQ or delivered to 910 2nd Avenue in Rockford.

Before you deliver items you can call and ask about a facility tour as well.

The need is great for school supplies and getting foster children the items they need to start the year off on the right foot.

On top of having to purchase new clothes, registration and textbook fees, the foster parents are bogged down with expenses.

This drive is to help relieve some of those financial burdens, so foster youth can strive for success.
