Rock County Council on Aging hosts Art and Relaxation for Family Caregivers event

The Rock County Council on Aging in partnership with the Rock County Caregiver Resource Network will present the first “Art and Relaxation for Family Caregivers” event.

This event will be held at Rotary Gardens, 1455 Palmer Drive, Janesville.

This event is for those individuals and families who are caring for anyone of any age that is dealing with issues associated with aging, disability or mental illness.

Those who will benefit from attending are family caregivers who come with their family support team and friends, employed family caregivers and grandparents raising grandchildren.

The best thing about this art event is that you don’t have to be an artist to enjoy yourself and learn.

A master artist will guide attendees step-by-step through their painting.

Those attending will leave with their own masterpiece to take home and the event will last about two hours.

Cost will be $10 for one person and $15 for two people which includes all supplies, instruction and snacks along with entry into the Rotary Gardens after the event.

Preregistration and payment before the event is required.

Transportation and respite services available to those who qualify.

There will be two session times available: 2 p.m. or 6 p.m.

After the 2 p.m. session, participants may visit the Gardens, those attending the 6 p.m. session are encouraged to come early to visit the Gardens.

Family caregivers are encouraged to register with a friend or a supportive family member.
