Sagar Patel speaks at IEEE Industry Applications Society Meeting

Sagar A. Patel, President, Aircraft Turbine Systems (Loves Park, Illinois, Rockford Region) Woodward, Inc., will be the guest speaker at the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Industry Applications Society Meeting on Thursday, August 27, at Rock Valley College’s Woodward Technology Center (WTC) on the RVC main campus located at 3301 N. Mulford Road.

Networking will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 and the presentation by Mr. Patel at 7:15. Dinner is free for IEEE members, $10 for non-IEEE members and $5 for non-IEEE member students. Anyone who wishes to attend the presentation only may do so for free.

Mr. Patel will share thoughts and notes from Woodward’s 145 years of innovation. Product innovation and diversification have grown Woodward into a $2 billion dollar company, of which more than $1 billion are Aerospace Segment sales. Looking forward for Woodward and for the region, process innovation is leading a manufacturing renaissance, in which new tools, machine methods and a newly trained workforce will make this area’s, and our country’s, manufacturing the envy of the world.

Mr. Patel joined Woodward on June 27, 2011, as the President of Aircraft Turbine Systems. Aircraft Turbine Systems’ largest facility is located in Loves Park. He is responsible for full P&L, including leading business operations and services and future growth through product and process innovation. He is experienced in aviation, transportation, and energy products and industries.
