Art in the Park returns to Krape Park Sunday
The eighth annual Art in the Park Event, which is hosted by the Freeport Park District and the Freeport Art Museum, returns Sunday to Krape Park, 1799 S. Park Blvd., in Freeport. The number of visitors attending this event has grown over the past several years, attracting over 5,500 visitors to the park. This event features activities throughout Krape Park including: fine art displays, performing arts, demonstrations of various art media, and children’s hands-on activities. Guests may also experience outdoor cuisine at various food vendors on site. The event will go from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
There will be art booths for various medias including drawing, painting, photography, ceramics & pottery, jewelry, wood working, glass, sculpture and other fine art.
Performing artists include Mike Kelly, Kendra Swason, Greg Herriges, The Mary J. Harris Duo, The Lone Canary, New Directions Drum Circles, Wineshiek Players, and yoga by Movement on Harlem.
Additionally, participants and visitors can explore the fine amenities of Krape Park such as an authentic working carousel, fenced-in duck farm, waterfall, children’s play areas, canoes & paddle boats, a band shell, picnic tables and outdoor grills on site. Krape Park is accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Admission and parking for Art in the Park is free and there will be additional parking for the event.
