WNIJ hosts Three-Minute Fiction

Staff Report

Local NPR affiliate 89.5 WNIJ last week announced their “very short story” competition, “Three-Minute Fiction.”

To enter, contestants must write a 500-word story based on a prompt by Pushcart Prize-winning author and DeKalb resident, GK Wuori, using it as either a general theme or the first line of the story.

The prompt is: “I’m a curious person. No, I’m a nosey person. No, I’m a snoop, and it’s finally gotten me into trouble.”

The deadline for story submission is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. Short story authors should submit their work to threeminutefiction.wnij@gmail.com.

The authors of the winning submissions will be invited to read their story on 89.5 WNIJ during Morning Edition the week of October 5.
