Rockford Health System welcomes new physicians
Breast Surgeon Arvind Mahatme, M.D., M.S.H.A., joins the Rockford Health System Women’s Center. Dr. Mahatme earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa and his Master of Science in Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He completed an internship in general surgery at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. He finished his residency in general surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in breast/surgical oncology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond. He is board certified in surgery. In addition to cancer patients, he also cares for patients with genetic susceptibilities or non-operative breast ailments.
Tabraiz Mohammed, D.O., M.S., has joined the Cancer Center at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Dr. Mohammed earned his medical degree at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. He completed a residency in internal medicine, eventually becoming chief resident, and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. He is board certified in internal medicine. His professional interests include general oncology; hematology; cancer prevention; medical education; GI and lung cancer research; and cancer survivorship. He also speaks Hindi.
