Rockford Society of the Archaeological Institute of America holds presentation
The Rockford Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will be holding a free multimedia presentation on archaeology on Tuesday, October 20.
The presentation will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Burpee Museum of Natural History, 737 North Main Street.
The topic for the event will be Modern Reconstruction of the Ancient Greek Ship Kyrenia.
Guest speaker Dr. David Stewart, Maritime Studies, East Carolina University.
Professor David Stewart, researcher and professor of maritime history at East Carolina University, will be the guest speaker for this multimedia presentation on the complete 3-D recording of the best preserved ancient Greek ship hull, Kyrenia, dating to 300 B.C.
The public is invited to a free reception held immediately following each presentation and additional free parking is also available next door at the Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main Street.
