Haunted Rockford offers a variety of spooky events this October

This time of the year people’s thoughts turn to things that go bump in the night. If you are looking for something paranormal to do, Rockford has several options. Haunted Rockford hosts bus tours on Saturdays during October include a little include history and a lot of mystery . Guests will visit various haunted locations throughout the city on a charter bus. They even offer a Haunted Pub crawl so you can listen to stories of spirits while you enjoy liquid ones!
If you have ever wanted to be like the TV shows and go on a Ghost Hunt, Haunted Rockford offers those, too. You can check out the events and read ghost stories from the area at hauntedrockford.com.
Tinker Swiss Cottage is one of the most active locations in the Forest City. It was actually featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters a couple of years ago. The museum offers Paranormal Tours every Friday in October. These also include presentations by paranormal investigation teams, authors and other people involved in the paranormal. Haunted Rockford’s own Kathi Kresol will be presenting on local Ghostly Encounters on Friday, October 16. The cost for these events is $25 and tickets may be purchased through the website at tinkercottage.com.
The Coronado Performing Arts Center is another very active haunted location. They will offer wonderful Spirited Ghost Tours on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30 from 7-9 p.m. The cost for these tours is $10 and you can arrange for tickets by calling the Box Office at 815-968-0595 to reserve a spot.
The Ida Public Library, 320 N. State Street in Belvidere, will also offer a free event on Thursday, October 29 at 6 p.m. Kathi Kresol from Haunted Rockford will be speaking on Ghastly Crimes and Ghostly Encounters. Main St., and travel in a coach bus to different haunted locations throughout the city. Kathi Kresol of Haunted Rockford will tell the haunted history of the locations she has researched. Psychics Paul Smith and Sara Bowker will join us to share their impressions of any spirits that might linger. Most of this tour will be outside so please dress appropriately for the weather. Twisted Spirits: Haunted Pub Tour Saturday, October 17 7-10 p.m. We will start our tour at the very haunted Hope and Anchor English Pub at 5040 N. 2nd Street. Kathi Kresol of Haunted Rockford will share the history of this location and Hope and Anchor owner Kreena will share the ghostly encounters that her staff has witnessed. Then we will travel in a coach bus to different haunted pubs throughout the city where you will have a chance to experience spirits of both kinds, liquid and ghostly. Public Investigation of the Historic Conover Square Friday, October 30 8-11:55 p.m. Conover Square, 201 N. 3rd Street Oregon. This exciting event will let you be the paranormal investigator. Kathi Kresol from Haunted Rockford and Mike Grasso from Conover Square will host this very special evening. We will be joined by two teams; Dale Kaczmarek and the Ghost Research Society and the Midwest Ghost Society. Guests will be in small groups as you join the members of the teams in the most active locations in this huge building. You are invited to bring your own equipment or use theirs. Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and Gardens Fridays, October 9, 16, 23, 30 7-10 p.m. 411 Kent Street. Join us for scintillating tales from paranormal experts, listen to audio clips found in the Tinker Cottage, and enjoy a tour with the chance to have your own paranormal encounter. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own equipment (cameras, camcorders, audio recorders, emf). Each event begins in the Barn. LOLTOS presents Spirited Ghost Tours which are available by reservation only for $10 per person. The Spirited Ghost Tours start promptly at 7 p.m. and last two hours.
