The lines have been drawn in the legal showdown over clean water, and Illinois needs our attorney general to champion the state’s waterways and drinking water.
Here’s the quick story: A number of other states are siding with the polluters seeking to overturn the Clean Water Rule, and recent court decisions have put on hold the biggest victory for clean water in more than a decade.1
So far, seven states and the District of Columbia have intervened in the lawsuits on behalf of our nation’s waterways and drinking water.
Now would be a perfect time for Attorney General Madigan to join them, so the court sees another big state — representing millions of people — lining up in defense of the Clean Water Rule.
Our rivers, streams, and lakes are not only vital to the health and welfare of all Illinoisans, they are also important to our economy. Illinois and the nation need Attorney General Madigan to defend our waterways and drinking water.
Thanks, as always, for supporting clean water,
