OCSWMD holds monthly electronics recycling day

The Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department (OCSWMD) will conduct the monthly electronic recycling event on Friday, November 20 due to county offices being closed on the last Friday of November. The event is held at the County Annex Building at 909 W. Pines Road in Oregon. Hours for the recycling are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. sharp.

Ogle County residents can take advantage of this program to have their unwanted electronics recycled responsibly. Items accepted include televisions, computer hardware, monitors, printers, copiers, scanners, microwaves, audio/visual equipment, phones, cell phones, laptops, tablets, inkjet cartridges, rechargeable batteries, and CFL lightbulbs. There is a limit of two cathode ray tube (CRT) devices per vehicle. This can be two televisions, two computer monitors, or one of each. No packaging (boxes, Styrofoam, plastic) will be accepted with electronics. Please remove this material from your electronics and recycle or dispose of properly. Items not accepted by this program include coffee makers, dehumidifiers, white goods (appliances), heaters, lamps, bread makers, and vacuum cleaners.
