The Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center will open its Holiday Gift and Farmers Market Expo on Friday, November 20.
This expo will feature a 12 foot Christmas tree with a unique assortment of holiday gift ideas for all types of shoppers. The products for sale are manufactured in either Freeport or Stephenson County and commemorate local history as well as promote local attractions, events, facilities or organizations. There will be items for sale from over 100 vendors at the Expo. Items for sale will include books; scarves; food specialties including honey, breads and salsa; Freeport Pretzel items; Rawleigh and McNess products; doll clothes; mittens; soaps and much more.
Visitors Center Executive Director Connie Sorn stated, “This is one of our most popular Expos. It has become a tradition for visitors and local residents who are looking for unique gift ideas. The gift items make great presents for former residents who have memories of the area, children that grew up here, but now live away, or just folks who want to give a one-of-a-kind present. This is our 11th year and we have added new vendors and new products.”
The Gift Expo will be on display through January 3 at the Visitors Center located at 4596 US Highway 20 east of Freeport from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. daily. The Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center is funded by private donations and designed to promote economic growth in Freeport and throughout Stephenson County.
