Winter weather in on deck as the area prepares for the first snowfall of the year.
Up to 6-10 inches of snow is expected to fall Friday and Saturday, with periods of rain that will make travel conditions in the area a mess. Gusts of up to 30 mph are expected to come with cold temps and heavy snowfall Saturday morning.
And the cold air will hold through Sunday with a high of 28F – overnight lows to dip into the teens. Temperatures will climb back into the 40s next week.
