Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) has announced that it is joining #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving to connect community members, local businesses and corporations to support a local charity and give back in several ways. This year #GivingTuesday is on December 1. This annual day of giving is now in its fourth year and its philanthropic initiative is an answer to retailers’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Winnebago County CASA’s goal is to inspire people to collaborate in improving our local community and support our youngest members.
CASA services a third of the over 1,200 plus children involved in the Winnebago County Abuse and Neglect Court. Their mission is to supply each and every child with a CASA. In an effort to reach that goal, CASA is participating in #GivingTuesday to raise $5,350 to support 15 additional children this year. CASA’s goal is to protect the children and serve their best interests. CASA relies on specially trained community members to help power the volunteer workforce that provides a voice for the children.
CASA is asking for the community to help make an impact here in Winnebago County by supporting the children that need it most.
