The public is invited to attend the Rockford Community Nativity Display and Concert presented by the Rockford Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 324 West University on Friday, December 4 from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, December 5 2-8 p.m. Admission is free and free refreshments will be served. On Sunday, December 6 from 7-8 p.m. the public is welcome to join the church for the broadcast of a Christmas Devotional with messages from the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Christmas music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir which is also a free event. The event is a family friendly event and activities will be available for all ages. Besides nativity displays there will be a story teller, crafts for children, a scavenger hunt, a nativity scene for dress up play, live performances, free genealogy research by the Family History Center and Christmas music will be presented throughout the event.
The schedule of musical presentations on December 4 is the Belvidere North High School Choraliers at 5 p.m.; Voices of Harlem at 5:30; Carolyn Duede, harpist/vocalist at 6; 2nd City Chorus at 6:30; Svea Soner at 7; Operetta Party at 7:30; Flute Club-Betty Leeson at 8; and Christmas Carol Singing at 8:30.
The schedule of musical presentations on December 5 is the Jubellation Bell Choir at 3 p.m.; Truman’s Ridge Blue Grass Band at 3:30; piano students of Marilyn Cade at 4; the Belvidere Young Women Chorus at 4:30; the Rockford Area Horn Club at 5; 2nd Opinion Barbershop Quartet at 5:30; the Spanish Branch Choir at 6; the Rock Valley Children’s Choir at 6:30; the Rodriguez Family String Ensemble at 7; and Paul Neumann, vocalist at 7:30.
